Hepatitis C : Causes, Symptoms , Transmission, Diagnosis, Prevention and Treatment

Hepatitis C is the infection of the liver and caused by the Hepatitis C virus. The Sign and Symptoms , Causes, Transmission ,Prevention and Treatment is given both in English and Urdu for International readers and Pakistani readers.

Symptoms of Hepatitis C

There are no symptoms initially in many patients. But one can notice the below:

  • Jaundice ( Yeloowness of Eyes and Skin and sometimes dark urine)
  • Nausea
  • Fatigue
  • Loss of Apetite
  • Vomiting
  • Numbness of Feet and hands
  • Stomach Pain

Causes of Hepatitis C

This virus spreads via blood or bloody fluids. Other causes could be:

  • Sharing blood with infected syringes
  • By using infected surgical instrumenst
  • Sharing drugs and syringes
  • By using used blade for shave.

There are very less chances of transmission of this virus via Sex or during pregnancy from mother to child

 

Complex Symptoms :

  • Imbalance of mind
  • Oedema of Feet and Hands
  • Water in Abdomen
  • Black Stools
  • Blood with stools and vomiting

Prevention

Hepatitis C can be prevented by adopting these measures:

  • Always use new syringe for injection
  • Always use new blade for shave
  • Medical Persons ( Doctors , Nurses, Students) should get their regular check up
  • Messages should be on aired on Radio , TV and Newspapers for public health awareness

There is No Vaccine of Hepatitis C

Vaccine is available only for Hepatitis B and Hepatitis A
