Sharif Medical and Dental College Lahore MBBS & BDS Admissions 2016-17.The private medical college is under the Sharif Trust which is run  and governed by Nawaz Sharif , Shahbaz Shahbaz Sharif and other Sharif Family members.

10th MBBS & BDS Batch Admissions at Sharif Medical and Dental College Lahore

 

Sharif Medical and dental college is affiliated with University of Health Sciences Lahore and is recognized by Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PM&DC).

Sharif Medical and Dental College is an Institution under the aegis of Sharif Trust having its main academic campus in the Sharif Medical City, located in the south west of Lahore at Jati Umra, off Raiwind Road. It is located in a clean and peaceful setting on the bank of canal.

ADMISSION POLICY

1. Number of Seats

Sharif Medical and Dental College, Lahore admits a total of 100 MBBS and 50 BDS students in the following two categories on merit. The fee rates for each category are different.

a.Local/GeneralSeats (Total85MBBSand43BDSseats):-

  • Pakistani Nationals

b.ForeignSeats (Total15MBBSand7BDSseats)-

  • Foreign
  • Pakistanis having dual nationalities .

2. Eligibility:

a.Local seats:

  • Pakistan nationals; or
  • Dual national Pakistanis/Resident status of a foreign country with premedical from Pakistan/Pakistani education system; who have:

i. Passed

F.Sc. pre-medical with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English with minimum of 660/1100 marks (excluding marks of Hafiz e Quran).
or

Qualification Equivalent to F.Sc. pre-medical i.e., A – Levelor American High School with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English. Such candidates should submit  Equivalence Certificate of IBCC (Inter Board Committee of Chairman) along with a complete official transcript of the result.

ii. Appeared in Provincial Medical College Admission Test (MCAT). Result of MCAT has to be submitted along.

b. Foreign seats

  • Foreign nationals; or.
  • Dual national Pakistanis/Resident status of a foreign country with premedical equivalent from outside Pakistan; who have:

i. Qualification equivalent to F.Sc.pre-medical.

ii. Have appeared in Provincial Medical College Admission Test (MCAT). Result of MCAT has to be submitted along.

or
Passed SAT-II examination with a minimum score of 550 in each of the three science subjects of which two have to be Biology and Chemistry.

3. Submission of Application:

Candidates should submit: Application in their respective categories duly completed in all respects on the prescribed Admission form (available online and from notified places). Receipt of application dues which may be paid in the form of cash/pay order in favour of Sharif Medical & Dental College, Lahore.

4. Procedure of Selection:

All applicants are short-listed within their respective categories by the Admission Board Sharif Medical & Dental College, strictly on the basis of merit. Final selection is made with great care based on marks in Matriculation/Equivalent Qualification, F.Sc./Equivalent Qualification and MCAT. Decision is in accordance with approved and defined procedure and is final, irrevocable and non-negotiable. The College authorities are not bound to explain the reason for their decision to the applicants, their parents, guardians, relatives or friends.

5. Confirmation of Admission:

The list of selected candidates is displayed on the College Secretariat notice board and on internet with the directions to submit the College dues within a stipulated time. The confirmation of admission is based upon the payment of dues. In case of failure of submission of dues, the name of defaulting candidate is struck off from the list and the seat is offered to the next candidate on the waiting list.

CODE OF CONDUCT

Cheating, social misconduct or infractions of College rules, stealing, willful destruction of College property, use of physical force against other students, patients or staff, use of drugs, possession or use of weapons, inciting disturbance or strikes, repeated absence without permission from classes, clinics or laboratories will be referred to the College Disciplinary Committee, which after investigation will recommend appropriate action.  It may result even in removal of students’ name from the College roll.

Students are expected to attend all classes, demonstrations, practical and clinical teaching sessions. Student Attendance & Academics record is properly maintained by the respective teaching departments and Student Affair Section of the College Secretariat. A copy of students’ attendance record of each trimester is posted to parents/guardian for their information and feed back from them.

It is mandatory for the students (as per rules of the College and the University of Health Sciences), to have at least 75% of the total class attendances to be eligible to appear in University Professional Examinations. The admission forms of those students who do not fulfil  this criteria are not forwarded to the University for the respective Professional Exam.

Students would not be granted leave of absence during working days except in case of an emergency. All leave applications must be addressed to the Principal in writing for sanction.

Students are expected to take care of College / Hospital property. Any damage caused by the students will be charged in full to the students involved in such mischeif.

The College is not responsible for loss of any valuables during a student’s tenure at the College. Students are expected to safeguard their own belongings.

DRESS CODE

The dress code is to be strictly followed at all times during college working hours.

BOYS :
Trousers, Shirt and Shoes (Open toed shoes are not allowed). Qameez Shalwar is not allowed on any college day.

GIRLS :
Qameez and Shalwar/Trousers, which should be decent and of appropriate lengths (proper and well suited to our cultural requirements).
All students must wear overall and college ID card during college working hours.
