The University of Health Sciences (UHS) Lahore invites applications from the eligible candidates for admissions to Bachelor of Medicine & Surgery (MBBS) and Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) programmes in public sector medical and dental institutions of the Punjab for the Session 2016-17. The process will be as follows:

  1. ENTRANCE TEST
      1. The University shall conduct an Entrance Test, on behalf of the Government of the Punjab, for admission to MBBS/BDS programme on Sunday, 28th August, 2016. The test shall start at 09:00 A.M. sharp. It will be simultaneously arranged in the following cities:
        Southern Punjab Central Punjab Northern Punjab
        Bahawalpur , Multan, Rahim Yar Khan and D.G. Khan. Lahore, Faisalabad, Sahiwal, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Sargodha and Sialkot. Rawalpindi and Hasanabdal
      1. As per the Regulations of Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PM&DC), it is mandatory for a candidate desirous of admission to any public or private medical / dental college of the province, to appear in the said test.
      1. The candidates having domicile of any district of Punjab, Islamabad (ICT), Gilgit-Baltistan and Dual/Foreign Nationals can appear in the test.
    1. Minimum required qualifications for the appearance in the test is Intermediate Science (HSSC/FSc) Pre-Medical Group or equivalent examination with at-least 60 per cent (660/1100) unadjusted marks. However, those awaiting result can also apply.
    2. The 150-minutes (2½ hours) test shall consist of a single question paper containing 220 multiple choice questions of total 1100 marks, divided into four sections:
      1. Physics (44 MCQs)
      2. Chemistry (58 MCQs)
      3. English (General) (30 MCQs)
      4. Biology (88 MCQs)
    1. There shall be Negative Marking in the test. Five (05) marks will be awarded on each correct answer whereas one mark (01) will be deducted from total score on each incorrect answer. No mark will be deducted on not attempting a question.

 

  1. Entrance Test Application Forms (in triplicate) alongwith the Information Booklet and Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) regarding admissions, shall be available at all the branches of the BankIslami Pakistan Ltd. (BIPL), situated in Punjab and Islamabad from 18th July to 8th August, 2016 (excluding Saturdays & Sundays) from 9:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. The nearest branch of the bank can be located at http://www.bankislami.com.pk/branch_locator/. Entrance Test Application Form can also be downloaded from UHS website.
  2. Choice of city for the test :The candidate can select one out of 13 cities from where he/she wishes to appear in the Entrance Test. For that purpose, he/she will have to submit his/her application at any of the branches of the BIPL situated in that particular city zone only. The city-wise distribution of bank branches is given at UHS website: (www.uhs.edu.pk).
  3. Procedure for Submission of Application Form(a) The candidate shall fill the Application Form in triplicate with blue ball point and after that paste color photographs (3.5 cm wide x 4.5 cm high) on each copy of the form. He/she shall also fill a Fee Challan Form of Rs.500/- available at BIPL branches.(b) The candidate shall submit the duly filled Application Form and Fee Challan Form alongwith Rs.500/- in cash as the Entrance Test fee to the concerned Bank Officer who will check his/her entries in the form.

    (c) No document is required to be submitted with the Application Form. However, the candidates are advised to bring the copies of their certificates, domicile, CNIC/B-Form, alongwith a blue ball point and a gum stick to fill the form and paste photographs if they wish to fill the Application Form in the bank. Otherwise, they can download the Application Form from the UHS website (www.uhs.edu.pk), fill that in triplicate at home and then submit it at the concerned branch of the bank alongwith fee.

    (d) After receiving the fee, the concerned bank officer shall return the duly attested “Candidate’s Copy” of the Application Form to the candidate. Each candidate shall be issued a specific transaction code on his/her application form which will help him/her track his/her roll number.

    (e) The Bank (BIPL) shall intimate the applicants for their Roll Numbers and Examination Centres via SMS and E-mail alerts at their Mobile Phone Numbers and E-mail addresses as provided by the candidates in their Application Forms within 72 hours of the submission of Application Forms.

    (f) If a candidate does not receive SMS Alert or E-mail within 72 hours, he/she can contact BIPL at their helpline Numbers Direct # 042-35760203, Board # 042-35776793 & 042-35760141 Ext: 2552 / Cell # 0332-3073121. On providing the specific transaction code, the bank shall issue Roll Number and Examination Centre to the concerned candidate.

    (g) The candidate must take a print of the Alert sent at his/her E-mail address which will be his/her Roll Number Slip.

    (h) It is mandatory for a candidate to bring the print-out of the Roll Number Slip and the “Candidate’s Copy” of the Application Form, duly stamped by the bank, at the Examination Centre on the test day without which no candidate will be allowed to appear in the test.

    (i) Candidates are required to submit their application by hand. Applications received by post/E-mail shall not be entertained. Parents or any other close relative of the candidate can receive and submit application on his/her behalf.

  1. ADMISSION PROCESS
      1. The admission process will start in September.
      2. All those candidates having domicile of Punjab or Islamabad (ICT) who will score 82 per cent or above aggregate marks (excluding Hifz-e-Quran marks) shall be eligible to apply for admission on Open Merit basis in Public Sector Medical / Dental Colleges of the Punjab.
      3. The aggregate percentage shall be calculated in accordance with the regulations of Pakistan Medial & Dental Council, by giving following weightage to the marks obtained by a candidate:

        Matriculation or equivalent –– 10%
        HSSC / FSc or equivalent –– 40%
        UHS Entrance Test 2014 –– 50%

        The formula for calculation of aggregate score is available on UHS website www.uhs.edu.pk.

      1. The aforementioned condition is not applicable to candidates seeking admission against any category of reserved seats (Disabled Students, Under-Developed Districts, Cholistan and Children of Overseas Pakistanis/Dual Nationality Holders) who can apply if they fulfill basic eligibility criteria as laid down in the Prospectus and also available on UHS website www.uhs.edu.pk.
      1. There are 14 seats available on Reciprocal basis for Punjab domiciled candidates in the medical colleges of Balochistan, KPK and Azad Jammu & Kashmir. Candidates applying against open merit seats can exercise their option for these seats as well. No separate application will be invited for these seats.
      1. The Prospectus and Admission Form will be available, free of cost, at UHS Lahore, Rawalpindi Medical College Rawalpindi and Nishtar Medical College Multan, as per given schedule. The candidates will have to provide the attested copies of their SSC,FSc (or equivalent) result cards and domicile certificate to get the Prospectus and Admission Form.
      1. Duly filled Admission Form, complete in all respect, can be submitted, only by hand, at the same centre from where the Prospectus was received as per given schedule.
      1. Candidates will give their preference for medical and dental colleges in one single Admission Form which once given shall be final and cannot be changed subsequently. An applicant shall not be considered for a college he/she has not named in his/her order of preference. One candidate can only submit one form. There is no need to submit separate forms for MBBS and BDS.
    1. Hifiz-e-Quran Test:Muslim Hafiz-e-Quran will be awarded 20 additional marks which will be added to his/her HSSC score, provided that he/she passes the Hifiz-e-Quran Test conducted by the University. All the claimants who have an aggregate score of 82% or above marks, will have to get themselves registered for the test at the University as per given schedule. They must bring the original and attested copies of their Matriculation, FSc / HSSC result cards, Hifiz-e-Quran Certificate issued by a registered madrassa, and a color photograph (size 3.5 cm x 4.5 cm) at the time of registration and Hifiz-e-Quran Test.

(iii) Registration for Hifz-e-Quran Test 19th September to 23rd September, 2016, from 09:00 am to 04:00 pm at UHS only.
(iv) Hifz-e-Quran Test 26th September to 30th September, 2016 at UHS only
(v) Submission of Admission Forms (Open Merit, Under-Developed, Disabled, Cholistan, Overseas Pakistanis/Dual Nationality Holders) 3rd October to 15th October, 2016 (excluding Sunday and Ashura Holidays) from 09:00 am to 04:00 pm
(vi) Medical Board of Disabled Candidates 17th October to 21st October, 2016
(vii) First Selection List (MBBS and BDS) all categories Friday, 28th October, 2016
(viii) Commencement of MBBS classes in medical colleges of the Punjab Monday, 14th November, 2016
(ix) Commencement of BDS classes in dental colleges of the Punjab Wednesday, 14th December, 2016
IMPORTANT
  1. 1. The candidates must reach their respective centres at-least one hour before the commencement of the Entrance Test on 28th August, 2016. The centres will be sealed / closed at 08:15 A.M. sharp.No candidate shall be allowed to sit the Entrance Test without the print-out of the Roll Number Slip and the “Candidate’s Copy” of the Application Form duly attested by the bank.
  2. Domicile is a mandatory document for admission. No other document (e.g., Birth Certificate, B-Form, etc.) shall be acceptable in lieu of the domicile certificate of the candidate. Any candidate found to have domicile of more than one place shall be disqualified.
  3. Any candidate found to have submitted forged certificates or fake documents at any stage of admission shall be debarred from admission to any medical/dental college for a period of 7 years.
  4. Forms once submitted shall not be returned. Incomplete and unsigned forms will be rejected
  5. After the last date of submission of Admission Forms, no revised result card or increase in marks will be acceptable.
  6. Applications / Forms received through post shall not be entertained. No Application / Form shall be entertained after due date for submission.
  7. Candidates having foreign qualifications such as A/O Level etc., shall have to provide the Equivalence Certificate issued by IBCC at the time of submission of Admission Forms.
  8. Candidates are advised to study the Information Booklet/Prospectus before filling the Application Form or Admission Form respectively.
  9. Foreign Nationals, candidates of Sindh, Baluchistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, FATA and Gilgit-Baltistan should contact their respective Ministries/Nominating Agencies/Admission Boards for admission against seats reserved for them in public sector medical and dental colleges of the Punjab.
