B.Sc. Engineering Programs at Faculty of Engineering & Technology

Engineering programs at the Faculty of Engineering & Technology, University of the Punjab, Lahore, the Entry Test conducted by the University of Engineering & Technology, Lahore, is mandatory for the Academic Session 2015-16. The Entry Test carries 30% weightage for determining merit. Eligibility for BS or Equivalent:
•
The candidates holding F.A/F.Sc or equivalent qualification with at least 2 nd division and age not more than 24 years are eligible for admission.
•
2 marks will be deducted from percent academic marks for each late session to a maximum of immediate last two sessions.
•
Clearance of Pre-Admission Entry Test is mandatory for the admission against merit as well as reserved seats only in the Departments/Institutes/Centres/Colleges who have opted for the Entry Test.
Eligibility for MA/ M.Sc or Equivalent:
•
The candidates holding B.A/ B.Sc (14-Years of Education) or equivalent qualification with at least 2 nd Division and age not more than 26 years are eligible for admission. The age limit of candidates applying for Masters Program in College of Art & Design should not be more than 28 years.
•
2 marks will be deducted from percent academic marks for each late session to a maximum of immediate last two sessions.
•
50% seats are reserved for graduates from Punjab University and rest 50% shall be filled on open merit basis. Clearance of Pre-Admission Entry Test is mandatory for the admission against merit as well as reserved seats only in the Departments/Institutes/Centres/Colleges who have opted for the Entry Test.
All the admissions for BS or equivalent, MA/M.Sc or equivalent and LL.B Programs shall be made on the basis of 70% academics and 30% Entry Test performance. For College of Art & Design, the merit shall be made on the basis of 50% Academic & 50% Entry Test performance and interview. Testimonials (not necessarily attested) should be attached with the Application Form. Incomplete forms shall not be entertained.
The above mentioned rules related to age shall not apply to the candidates seeking admission in Self Supporting (Evening) programs.
Note: Punjab Educational Endowment Fund (PEEF) is providing scholarship to deserving and meritorious students who got them enrolled in the University of the Punjab.
Admissions on Sports Seat:
•
2% seats have been reserved for admission on Sports basis. Only those students/candidates are eligible to apply for admission on sports basis who have participated in Sports Trials and their names have been recommended by Sports Based Admission Committee, headed by Director Sports. No other candidates will be considered for admission on sports basis.
•
Forms for admission on sports basis will be issued only to candidates whose names have been recommended by Sports Based Admission Committee and these forms must be obtained from and submitted to the concerned department within due date.
Admission on Reserved Seats other than Sports Seats:
•
One reserved seat is allocated for candidates from Balochistan Province in each program of every Department provided they must have their qualification and Domicile from Balochistan or at least their terminal degree must be from Balochistan. There is no Entry Test mandatory for students from Balochistan Province. No nomination is required from any authority. Candidates from Balochistan Province can apply directly for admissions in the concerned Department/Centre/ Institute/ College of University of the Punjab.
•
The details regarding other reserved seats are available at the Admission desk of every Department/Centre/ Institute/College.
Availability of Admission Forms:
Prescribed Admissions Forms for all programs i.e., BS or equivalent/ M.A, M.Sc or equivalent shall be available on 10-09-2015 from the respective Departments/Centres/Institutes/Colleges. Last date for the submission of Admission Forms is 19-09-2015 . Admissions Forms will also be available at the following branches of the Habib Bank Ltd for the convenience of the students.

Eligibility of BS/ MA/ M.Sc. Self-Supporting Programs (Afternoon/ Replica/ Evening)
Eligibility and basic criteria for admission in Self-supporting (Afternoon/Replica/Evening) programs of BS/MA/M.Sc or equivalent will be the same as for morning programs. Entry Test conducted by some Departments for morning courses is also mandatory and applicable for Self-supporting (Afternoon/Replica/Evening) programs. There is no age limit or session preference for Self-supporting (Afternoon/Replica/Evening) programs. Hostel accommodation facility shall not be provided to the students admitted under Self-Supporting Programs.
•
The Admission Office will remain open on Saturdays during the admission days.
•
All relevant information will be available at the Admission desk of each Department/ Centre/ Institute/ College.
•
University is not bound to provide hostel accommodation to each and every admitted student. Limited accommodation shall be allotted on merit basis.

NOTE:
The admission offices of all the Departments/ Centres/ Institutes/ Colleges will remain open on Saturdays during admission process. The Deans/ Chairmen/ Directors/ Principals are requested to remain available in the Departments/ Centres/ Institutes/ Colleges during admission process.
•
Dues should be deposited in the concerned Banks of the Departments/ Centres/ Institutes/ Colleges.
•
The candidates whose names appeared in the First or Second Merit List but they could not deposit fees for admission within stipulated dates, may also be considered in the Third and Fourth Merit on their application/ request.
•
Fourth and Final merit list shall be prepared three times of the vacant seats available from waiting list.
