LUMS National Outreach Programme (NOP) 2015

LUMS launched its National Outreach Programme (NOP) in 2001 to extend the benefits of world-class education to talented students all over Pakistan and thereby become a truly national university. This prestigious scholarship programme focuses on identifying bright students with exceptional Matriculation and FA/FSc results and inducting them into the LUMS Undergraduate Programmes. The scholars that qualify as NOP are given full financial assistance. LUMS is very proud of its NOP scholars: more than 500 have entered as LUMS students until now, of which nearly 150 have already graduated.

The Process Includes:

  • Working with schools, colleges, Boards of Intermediate and Secondary Education and educational NGOs to identify talented and needy students from various parts of the country
  • Encouraging these bright students at the Matriculation and Intermediate level to pursue education at LUMS
  • Giving orientation to potential candidates by inviting them to a 10-day orientation session at LUMS
  • Providing full financial assistance covering tuition, registration, hostel accommodation, living and books allowance to candidates who qualify for admissions through the National Outreach Programme

The applicants need to submit their National Outreach Programme (NOP) application forms after receiving their matriculation results. The applicants shortlisted on the basis of the eligibility criteria.

After being selected, the students are coached and registered for the entrance test, fully funded by LUMS. Finally, the students who apply to LUMS and qualify on merit are offered admission on full scholarship.

There is no separate quota for National Outreach Programme (NOP) candidates. All students, whether they apply directly or through National Outreach Programme (NOP), are evaluated on the same criteria.
