Islamabad Medical and Dental College is located in the country’s capital, Islamabad. With a campus spread over 65 kanals at the foothills of the scenic Margalla hills. Islamabad Medical and Dental College provides a healthy and open environment for training physicians uniquely prepared to practice 21st century medicine.

 It is listed in WHO Directory of Medical Institutions www.who.int It is also included in the International Medical Education Directory available through the ECFMG website www.ecfmg.org

 Islamabad Medical and Dental College has a purpose built campus with spacious teaching halls, well equipped modern laboratories and a spacious library providing variety of books and internet access, making possible a more dynamic learning and teaching environment.

 The institution prides itself for its renowned teaching faculty. The faculty which has extensive teaching experience from both national and international institutions.

 Islamabad Medical and Dental College has a 300 bedded SOCIAL SECURITY HOSPITAL as one of its attached teaching hospital. The hospital is a referral centre for over 18 Social Security dispensaries from Attock, Jhelum, Rawalpindi and Chakwal districts. It provides free of cost health and patient care for approximately 1.5 million secured workers and their families.

 Ahmed Medical Complex is the second teaching hospital and one of the leading private hospital. AMC is a 200 bedded hospital with fully-equipped laboratories, CCU, NICU and operation theaters.

 Likewise, St. Joseph’s is a charitable Hospice and is the third attached teaching hospital of IMDC. Having capacity of 60 beds for the resident patients and provides an out patient clinic which treats approximately 80-90 patients daily.

Islamabad Dental Hospital. is the most modern dental hospital in the city. All departments of dentistry are fully functional and providing treatment to the patients.

 Islamabad Medical and Dental College hosts a diverse student body not only from all across Pakistan but also from Middle East, the U.S.A. and Europe. IMDC has established several societies and student clubs which are responsible for arranging multicultural extra-curricular activities.

  • APPLICATION PROCEDURES:
WHO CAN APPLY?

The candidate who have passed Intermediate Science examination (F Sc Pre-Medical Group with subjects Biology, Chemistry, Physics) securing 60% marks in aggregate.

OR

Any other examination of a foreign university (A-Level) equivalent to the intermediate Science Examination (Pre-Medical Group) of a Pakistani board.

HOW TO APPLY?

All candidates are required to apply online at www.imdcollege.edu.pk , Candidates applying in both open merit and foreign categories would be required to submit two separate applications with respective application fee. Candidates are required to submit hard copies of all documents to the Admissions Office. Documents can be submitted personally or via post / courier to the Admissions Office. online application without application fee will not be processed.

PROVISIONAL APPLICATIONS

Application are accepted from students who are awaiting Intermediate or Entry Test results. Please enter ‘Result Awaited’ in relative sections of application. All missing documents must be submitted before the dead line failing which all such Provisional applications will be rejected without any further notice.

NUMBER OF SEATS:

A total of 100 seats for MBBS and 50 for BDS which are open to all National and International students with equivalent qualification, subject to passing the entry test and as per college policy.

ENGLISH LANGUAGE:

The knowledge of English Language is essential part of the policy as the medium of instruction is English. However, a foreign student will, therefore, submit an additional certificate to the effect that the candidate can read/write and speak English fluently.

ESSENTIALS:
  • Matric/Senior Cambridge or equivalent certificate
  • FSc. (Pre-Medical) or equivalent certificate
  • Detailed marks sheet F.Sc. (Pre-Medical)
  • 3 recent passport size colored photographs
  • Character certificate from principal of the last attended institution
  • Expatriates /Overseas /foreign applicants their parents /guardian to provide an evidence of residing outside the country.

Note: If any of the above certificates/documents are found false or forged, legal action will be initiated in addition to rusticating the student. All dues deposited shall also stand forfeited

  • Candidates shall submit along with the application form a complete record of school and college academic achievements including marks sheets certified by the principal of the concerned college.
  • The academic record submitted by the candidate will be scrutinized; incomplete applications will not be entertained.
  • All candidates who will be offered admission shall be required to sign and execute legal documents such as bonds / under takings, sureties in accordance with the rules of the college.
  • Eligibility Conditions

Any one of the following qualifications is necessary for an applicant to be eligible for consideration. All foreign qualifications must be supported by an Equivalence Certificate issued by Inter Board Committee of Chairmen (IBCC) of Pakistan with the application.

  • A minimum overall score of 60% in Pre-Medical group of Higher Secondary School Certification or equivalent in Pakistan.
  • British Advanced Level Certification with Biology, Chemistry and Physics/Mathematics. The score should be over 60% (Pre-Medical) in the IBCC Equivalence.
  • US Grade-12 or Canadian-Grade 12 or 13 Diploma (minimum GPA 3.0) accompanied by an Equivalence Certificate from the IBCC of at least 60% HSSC Pre-Medical qualification (that will require inclusion of Biology, Chemistry, Physics/Mathematics, and English in the final 3 years).
  • Higher Secondary School Certificate (12th grade) from other countries with Biology, Chemistry and Physics/Mathematics accompanied by an Equivalence Certificate from IBCC of at least 60% HSSC pre-medical qualification.
