Admission to PhD Biotechnology

 

INTRODUCTION

It is affiliated to Pakistan Institute of Engineering & Applied Sciences (PIEAS) Islamabad, for awarding MPhil & PhD degrees.  NIBGE is also an affiliate centre of the International Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (ICGEB) Trieste, Italy. Who Can Apply?

 

PhD

• All Pakistani nationals with minimum qualification of M.Sc. (Hones)/MPhil degree (18-years of education) in the relevant subject with minimum CGPA 3.0 out of 4.0 for semester system or minimum 65% marks for the annual system.  However, in BSc (two years), HSSC and SSC (or equivalent) one degree/certificate with minimum 50% marks may be allowed.

 

• HEC scholarship holders will be given priority.
• NIBGE employees who have been permitted by the competent authority may apply with assurance of funding for research.
• Candidates must have cleared subject GRE Test in Biotechnology as per HEC Guidelines.
• Duly filled admission form (can be downloaded from (www.nibge.org) accompanied with attested copies of the certificates of qualification, domicile, character certificate, detail marks certificate, three pass port size photographs and no objection certificate from the employer in case of in-service candidates. Incomplete form causes delay in admission or termination of candidature.
• Candidates have to appear for an interview.
• The candidates are directed to bring their NIC, original testimonials, thesis, report and a copy of the publication (if any) at the time of interview.
• Selected candidates will be required to submit migration certificate (original) for admission.

A non-refundable bank draft/Pay order of Rs.1800/- (with in due date) and Rs.2300/- in the name of NIBGE should accompany the application form.
