EATURES OF ADMISSION POLICY FOR UNDERGRADUATE (UG) PROGRAMMES

  • Admission is given only on the basis of merit.
  • Admissions are conducted once a year for academic year starting in Fall.
  • Admission can be sought either on the basis of NUST Entrance Test (NET) or Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) for which limited seats are available.
  • While Pakistani nationals (including dual nationality holders) can opt for both NET and SAT, foreign nationals can only apply on the basis of SAT (International).
  • NET is conducted at three locations, that is Islamabad (NUST Campus), Karachi and Quetta.
  • At Islamabad the Test is conducted in computer-based format. In Karachi and Quetta it is in paper-based format.
  • Computer-based test is designed in accordance with the internationally practiced system of on-line examinations. It is easy to attempt with minimal practice. Instructions to attempt computer-based entrance test along with mock test module will be available on NUST website for guidance.
  • The pattern and the standard of question papers for both types of tests is the same.
  • The computer based test at Islamabad is conducted in three series according to the following schedule:
  • First Series (NET-1)            -   December 2013
  • Second Series (NET-2)       -    March – April 2014
  • Third Series (NET-3)           -    June – July 2014
  • Candidates can appear in entrance test more than once to improve their score with their best score considered for admission.
  • In Karachi and Quetta, paper based entrance test will be conducted only once in June.
  • For computer-based NET, candidates can choose the date and session of test depending on availability of space.
  • The result of NET will remain valid for the current admission cycle only which will culminate in Fall 2014.
  • Applying for Registration:-
  • FA / FSc stream candidates should have passed Part-I exam.
  • A level students should have obtained minimum 60% marks in O level as per equivalence cirtificate issued by IBCC.

  • For NUST Enrance Test (per exam)                            -   Rs. 2500/- or USD 30/-
  • For SAT Candidate
  • SAT National seat                                          -   Rs.3000/- or USD 35/-
  • SAT International seat                                    -   Rs.6000/- or USD 70/-
  • Processing fee for entrance test and admission will be charged according to following structure:
  • For registration, possession of Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC), Form B or National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOP) is mandatory.
