Centre for Advanced studies in Engineering (CASE) Fall Admissions 2014

UNDERGRADUATE(BACHELORS) ADMISSIONS
B.SC. ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING
ACCREDITED BY PAKISTAN ENGINEERING COUNCIL (PEC)
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
The candidate should have passed the Intermediate (Pre-Engineering) Examination in Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics with at least 60% marks from a Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education of Pakistan or an equivalent examination recognized by HEC. This criterion is in-line with the guidelines from Pakistan Engineering Council.

Equivalent Examinations:

The following examinations are considered equivalent (for admission purposes) to the Intermediate (Pre-Engineering) Examination with Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics of the Pakistani Boards of Intermediate and Secondary Education:

  • Intermediate (Pre-Engineering) Examination of the Board of Intermediate & Secondary Education, Azad Kashmir.
  • Cambridge Overseas Higher School Certificate with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
  • British General Certificate of Education (Advanced Level) with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
  • F.Sc. (Pre-Medical) with Mathematics as an additional subject.
  • American High School Graduation Diploma (12th Grade) or equivalent.
  • B.Sc. in double maths, physics from an HEC recognized university (separate merit determination).
  • Diploma of Associate Engineer (DAE) with relevant subjects.

All the eligible candidates applying for admission will have to provide NAT IE Exam score conducted by National Testing Services (NTS) OR UET Combined Entry Test score to fulfill Admission Test requirements.

BACHELOR IN BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
  • Successfully cleared HSSC or equivalent exam.
  • A-Level students must have a minimum of C grade in their principle subjects.
  • Those who have taken the HSSC or an equivalent examination and are awaiting results can also apply.
  • Selection to BBA program will be significantly dependent on qualifying the aptitude test and interview thereafter.
  • All the eligible candidates applying for admission will have to provide any NAT ICS Exam score conducted by National Testing Services (NTS) ORUET Combined Entry Test score to fulfill Admission Test requirements.
  • Interviews of the short listed students will be conducted

Minimum acceptable scores will be determined by the Admission Committee. The decision of the Admission Committee will be final.

BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN COMPUTER SCIENCE
ACCREDITED BY NATIONAL COMPUTING EDUCATION AND ACCREDITATION COUNCIL (NCEAC)
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
  • The candidate should have passed the HSSC or equivalent examination with Mathematics and Physics subjects with 50% marks. Candidates applying on the basis of an equivalent examination will be required to get an equivalence certificate from the Inter Board Committee of Chairmen (IBCC), Islamabad, Pakistan. This criterion is in-line with the guidelines from National Computing Education Accreditation Council (NCEAC), an accreditation authority established by Higher Education Commission of Pakistan (HEC) to regulate the Computer Science education in Pakistan.
  • All the eligible candidates applying for admission will have to provide NAT ICS or NAT IE Exam score conducted by National Testing Services (NTS)OR UET Combined Entry Test score to fulfill Admission Test requirements.

 


GRADUATE(MASTERS) ADMISSIONS ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
MASTER OF SCIENCE IN COMPUTER ENGINEERING
  • A candidate for admission to the Master of Science in Engineering degree must hold a BSc/BE degree with a minimum CGPA of 2.5 on a scale of 4.0 or at least 60% marks in the relevant branch of Engineering recognized by HEC and registered with PEC.
  • GRE International or GAT General conducted by NTS will be necessary for admission to a Master Program with at least 50% cumulative score.
MASTER OF SCIENCE IN ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING
  • A candidate for admission to the Master of Science in Engineering degree must hold a BSc/BE degree with a minimum CGPA of 2.5 on a scale of 4.0 or at least 60% marks in the relevant branch of Engineering recognized by HEC and registered with PEC.
  • GRE International or GAT General conducted by NTS will be necessary for admission to a Master Program with at least 50% cumulative score.
MASTER OF SCIENCE IN SOFTWARE ENGINEERING
  • A candidate for admission to the Master of Science in Engineering degree must hold a BSc/BE degree with a minimum CGPA of 2.5 on a scale of 4.0 or at least 60% marks in the relevant branch of Engineering recognized by HEC and registered with PEC.
  • GRE International or GAT General conducted by NTS will be necessary for admission to a Master Program with at least 50% cumulative score.
MASTER OF SCIENCE IN INFORMATION SECURITY
A candidate for admission to the Master of Science in Information Security degree must hold the following degree with a minimum CGPA of 2.5 on a scale of 4.0 or at least 60% marks:

  • BE in Electrical/ Telecom/Computer Software/Computer System/Electronics/Industrial Electronics/Electrical & Communication/Avionics/Communication Technologies recognized by HEC and registered with PEC.
  • OR MCS/MIT/BCS (4 Years)/BIT (4 Years)
  • OR MSc in (Statistics/Physics/Applied Physics/Mathematics/Electronics) with BCS/BIT.

GRE International or GAT General conducted by NTS will be necessary for admission to a Master Program with at least 50% cumulative score.

MASTER OF SCIENCE IN ENGINEERING MANAGEMENT
The candidate must have a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of at least 2.50/4.00 or 60% aggregate marks in BSc/BE in any Engineering Discipline (16 years of formal education), recognized by PEC. A minimum score of 50% in NTS test result is compulsory for acceptance to the program.
MASTER OF SCIENCE IN MANAGEMENT
This program is open for students with 16 years of formal education in any discipline from a HEC recognized university. Minimum of 50% marks, or a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 2.5/4.0 in the last degree is required. The applicants must have a minimum of 2 years work experience and a minimum score of 50% in relevant NTS exam.
MASTER OF SCIENCE IN PROJECT MANAGEMENT
This program is open for students with 16 years of formal education in any discipline from a HEC recognized university. Minimum of 50% marks, or a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 2.5/4.0 in the last degree is required. The applicants must have a minimum score of 50% in NTS exam.

 

POST GRADUATE(DOCTORIAL) ADMISSIONS ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
PH.D. COMPUTER ENGINEERING:
  • A candidate for admission to the PhD (Doctor of Philosophy) in Computer Engineering degree must hold MSc 18 Years in relevant engineering discipline recognized by HEC and registered with PEC with a minimum CGPA of 3.00 on a scale of 4.0 or at least 75% marks.
  • GAT Subject Score of at least 60% cumulative score and GRE International Score (ETS, USA) of 50 percentile minimum is required for admission.
PH.D. ENGINEERING MANAGEMENT
The candidate must possess at least a four year Bachelors degree (PEC recognized) or equivalent and an MS degree in Engineering Management or relevant discipline (minimum 18 years of formal education) from an HEC recognized university. A minimum 3.00/4.00 (or 75% marks) in the MS degree is required. Student has to pass the CASE admission test (GAT Subject) and interview. All candidates must complete any other HEC requirement for admission to the PhD Program.
Note: PhD Admissions will always be offered subject to the availability of the supervisors in the Department.
PH.D. MANAGEMENT
The candidate must possess at least a four year Bachelors degree or equivalent and a MS degree in Management or close by discipline (minimum 18 years of formal education) from an HEC recognized university. A minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.00/4.00 (or 75%) in the Bachelors degree and 3.00/4.00 (or 75%) in the MS degree is required. Student has to pass the GAT Subject Test in Management Sciences conducted by NTS will minimum of 60% marks and interview by CASE faculty. All candidates must complete any other HEC requirement for admission to the PhD Program.
Note: PhD Admissions will always be offered subject to the availability of the supervisors in the Department.
